a note from Camilla

I was born into a family where food and nutrition was at the core of our connection.

We always sat around the dinner table until our meal was finished - and were exposed to all kinds of foods and cuisines from a very young age.

My father is the quintessential hunter and gatherer, farmer, orchidist and restauranteur who to this day is fanatic about growing and foraging as many foods as possible - and both parents who valued the importance of health through eating delicious and fresh, unprocessed whole foods, an active lifestyle spent primarily outdoors, with a very strong ‘no junk’ policy - the latter something I wasn’t all that fond of then, but definitely appreciate now!

The privilege of this incredible upbringing on the banks of the Macquarie River is not lost on me - however it has instilled in me an understanding of food, seasonality, flavour and that the best way to influence your health outcomes starts with what you eat and having an understanding of where it comes from.

Australia has access to some of the best produce in the world - from our rich agricultural pastures and orchards to the sea, tropical through to arid climates - there is basically nothing that can’t be grown and sourced in this very lucky country. The hardest part is often knowing when to buy it, how to cook it it, and what to serve it with!

the best way to influence your health outcomes starts with what you eat and having an understanding of where it comes from.

you can change your life through creating healthy habits that last a lifetime.

This fabulous produce is also overshadowed by the crazy world of large, fast-moving, consumer-driven, food processing companies who unfortunately tend to make our best, healthiest, and most nutritious foods seem unattainable and expensive.

I could bang on about this, going down the rabbit hole of the uneven power of multinational food & beverage companies who’ve benefited only from an ever increasing sedentary, convenience-comes-first society where obesity is more common than poverty - and the lack of government intervention around agriculture and junk foods. There are many varying opinions around this but one thing I know to be true is you can choose what you eat. You can prioritise health through nutrition and exercise. You can change your life through creating healthy habits that last a lifetime. All of these things can have a huge impact on not only how long you live, but more importantly your quality of life and how you feel every day.

if it doesn’t taste good, then why would you eat it?

And I also understand that ‘you don’t know what you don’t know’, and that’s where I am here to help.

Even though I solemnly believe the way to reach your health goals is primarily though nutrition, my mantra is delicious first and always, balance in both flavour and meal composition - and finding the joy in food in its best and purest form. After all, if it doesn’t taste good, then why would you eat it?

  • “After working with Mill I not only lost close to 10 kg in a healthy and maintainable period of time but also learnt valuable knowledge about nutrition for daily life and energy needed for day to day life. As part of that knowledge I came to realise that fad diets do not work (which is what I had been relying on for years). Mill went above and beyond helping me achieve my goals by analysing my daily meals and even taking me on a grocery shop to further assist me in my weekly shop, showing me alternatives and healthier options so that my meals weren’t boring and disgusting! I have never seen results in not only my weight loss but increase in quality of life like I did when working with Mil. I could not recommend her enough.”

  • "What I love about Camilla is her passion, energy and her mission to make things simple. She didn’t try to force me to make drastic changes. Camilla was guided by what I had been eating and showed me how to make some simple swaps to improve my eating. Making small changes was so much easier for me. A bonus was seeing my kids eating healthier! Camila really cares, has a big heart and will get excited for you - no matter how small the win. If you’re thinking about seeing a nutritionist or health coach, I highly recommend her! You will see that her passion is contagious"
